Therapeutic classes are the first steps toward a healthier you.  Try our classes for relief from arthritis, multiple sclerosis, or back pain. Our instructors are trained and our programs are catered to the specific demands that many of our bodies make in the aging process.  The Scott County Family Y has heated therapy pools, zero-depth entry pools and mechanical lifts to provide every individual with any special need access to our facilities.

Our therapeutic classes can help improve flexibility, muscle endurance, range of motion and balance.  The YMCA has the expertise to help every individual achieve your wellness goals.

Aqua Tai Chi for Health This class utilizes the Sun Style of Tai Chi containing many Qigong movements, which are designed with agile steps and exercises that improve mobility, balance, relaxation and breathing. These movements are particularly effective for healing and repairing the body. Range of motion and the relaxation element are enhanced with the warm water environment. Classes are intended to provide a continual challenge by reversing the direction of movements while Tai Chi’s artistic depth holds participants’ interest as they progress. A beginner class is offered for those new to Tai Chi, while an advanced class is for the seasoned participant to learn new movements and techniques. Held in warm water. FIRST STEP! (A great way to start your Wellness Lifestyle!)
