Each week, a new workout is introduced that includes a variety of competitive strokes and distance work, adding up to approximately 2500 yards total. Circle swimming is usually required. A posted workout is followed with informal coaching. Competitive swimmers, triathletes, and fitness swimmers aged 18+ are all welcome. United States Masters Swimming (USMS) registration is encouraged, but not required. We work hard and play hard! Community members must purchase a day pass each Saturday in order to be allowed into the Downtown Facility.

Adult Lessons Adult Lessons allow for people of any age to start learning to swim, or to pick up where they left off - yesterday, or yesteryear.

SCFY Backyard Pool Program Bring YMCA professional instruction into your own backyard! The Scott County Family Y recognizes that those with outdoor pools like to spend time close to home and outdoors during nicer weather, so we’ll send a qualified instructor and a certified lifeguard to your facility. Programs offered include: preschool swim lessons, youth beginner and advanced swim lessons, and water fitness classes. For swim lessons, eight 45-minute classes are held Monday – Thursday for two-week sessions. Fridays are reserved for inclement weather makeups. Hours are arranged at the convenience of the pool owner. Water fitness class sessions, class days, and class times are arranged with the pool owner.
